So last weekend I had drill. While drill weekends normally completely suck, this one wasn’t too bad. It was very slow. That gave me time to do a bit of reading. One of my coworkers was playing flash games online most of the time.
One caught my eye and I gave it a shot near the end of the day on Sunday. That game was Armor Wars. You can find it over on http://armorgames.com.
This game is a turn-based card game. Each turn you accumulate resources that are the costs of cards. As far as card costs go, it’s pretty balanced. It all depends on your deck. That leads me to my next point.
You also have the ability to build your own deck. The interface could use some slight tweaking, but the deck building itself is good.
Deck limit – You can build a total of 5 decks (of course with the option to overwrite old ones). That’s plenty for the game as is.
Deck card limit – You can only have up to 5 copies of any one card in your deck. Overall, I don’t believe there is a limit to the size of your deck. The one I built, used, and destroyed with is 80 cards. I could trim it quite a bit, but I don’t see the need to fix it since it works.
Initial Hand – One thing that makes this game way easier is the ability to set your initial 7 cards. I set mine up so that I could get my power hitter out in the first or second turn (depending on opponent).
Purchasing Cards – As you play through you earn points (for victories and losses). These points can be used to purchase cards. Personally, I only found a couple useful for my deck.
I’m not sure if you can ever ‘win’ the game. The opponents don’t seem to go above level 8. I played through until I hit level 13. The computer doesn’t win unless I have really bad luck with drawing cards. I’ve never lost twice to an opponent.
If anyone is curious as to my deck, just post a comment and I’ll add it to the post.
Final opinion:
Decent time-waster, but don’t expect to play it for more than a day or two unless you like repetition.
“No, venti is twenty. Large is large. In fact, tall is large and grande is Spanish for large. Venti is the only one that doesn’t mean large. It’s also the only one that’s Italian. Congratulations, you’re stupid in three languages.” -Danny, from Role Models (2008)

I was challenged on another YouTube channel to build a tower out of coins. I did this before I ever found anything online about stacking coins. I wish I had researched first. I could’ve made something much more impressive.
This is currently my video I’m proudest of. It’s simple, but entertaining.
With the recent hype, I decided to check out Resident Evil 5.
I didn’t like it. But then again, I haven’t liked Resident Evil since the very first game. [Note: I still own the first two games for Playstation]
Now, before you string me up and torture me, let me explain.
I cannot handle the controls. That’s it. I love the concept. I love the storylines. Thirteen years later [Resident Evil was released for the PS in 1996], I STILL don’t like the controls.
Now that I think about it, I didn’t check to see if there was a way to change it in the options. Anyone know off hand? If I remember, I’ll hop on the demo tonight and check.
That being said, I did not make it through the first ‘boss’. My first attempt was actually my best. Afterwards, everything spiraled downhill. I gave the game a good 45 minutes to prove itself to me. It did not.
I will not purchase the game. I’m content with getting my zombie fix from Left 4 Dead.
